dailyrecord.co.ukA Scots woman whose dog had to be put down after she failed to seek veterinary treatment has received a two-year ban. Susan Louise Strachan, 27, of Arbroath, pled guilty to failing to provide veterinary treatment for three of her four animals.
She received a two-year ban on owning animals and 90 hours of community payback at Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday, February 17.
Four-year-old black cat Raven had suffered from excessive hair loss as three quarters of her fur was shorter, stubby and discoloured.
Found perched on the cupboard tops by Scottish SPCA officers, she also had numerous scabby lesions around her neck Strachan also brought out her two female Jack Russell terriers from her bedroom, 16-year-old Lady and five-year-old Pippa.Lady was very thin with obvious hair loss and red inflamed skin on her back end.Pippa was practically bald on her back with obvious red scabs over her back and thickened dry skin around her eyes.Both were considerably underweight and suffering from dental disease.However, her final animal, a male cat called Bandit was in good condition and didn't need veterinary treatment.Inspector Karen Cooper of the Scottish SPCA said, “Strachan is well known to the Scottish SPCA.
