A woman who brutally stabbed her mother to death then hid her body in a cupboard under the stairs faces a life sentence. Cassandra Scott, 36, was unanimously found guilty of murder after she knifed her mum Beverley Scott 10 times in a drug fuelled rage.

After subjecting her mother to a vicious attack in the kitchen of their Longsight home, with two blows piercing the back of her heart, she left her to die then hid her under the stairs.
