A woman has been left with serious injuries after falling from a bridge over the M60. It was one of two major incidents in close proximity on the motorway near Stockport this afternoon (April 19).
Traffic was stopped in both directions at 3.30pm as Greater Manchester Police responded to concerns for the welfare of a woman, between junctions one at Stockport Pyramid and 27 at Portwood.
Emergency services arrived on the scene, including an air ambulance. GMP confirmed the woman's injuries were believed to be serious following the incident.
Around an hour later, two fire engines from Stockport and Wythenshawe responded to a car fire on the clockwise M60, near junction one.
