Woman rushed to hospital after being rescued from first floor flat by firefighters

The fire broke out at the property on Queen’s Road, in Collyhurst, at around 7.15pm this evening (March 24). Firefighters raced to the scene and used a ladder to reach the woman and hose reels and fans to bring the flames under control.

The casualty was taken to hospital by the paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service. Her condition is not yet known. Fire crews and police are still at the scene this evening.
