Ayrshire has secured a six figure settlement. Gillian Kay said at some points she thought there was "no real recovery in sight" after she was hurt in a 140mph crash on the A77.The 44-year-old's friend, Joan Price, was killed at the hands of boy racers on the Ayrshire road more than four years ago.
Joan, 59, died following a head-on collision near the Holmston Roundabout, Ayr, in January 2017 caused by drag-racers who clocked speeds of up to 140mph.
Gillian and Joan were heading home from band practice when the tragic collision occurred.Boy racers Logan Knox — who was banned from the road at the time — and John Gribben were jailed for causing the North Ayrshire Council worker’s death and banned from driving for 10 and 12 years,.
