Woman gives birth to daughter on motorway hard shoulder as baby refuses to wait
dailyrecord.co.ukA woman had to throw her birth plans aside and deliver her baby on a motorway hard shoulder.The Mirror reports that the woman was being rushed to hospital by her partner – but the pair had to pull over after the baby decided it couldn't wait to see the world.
She gave birth on the hard shoulder of an exit road on the A13 motorway near Delft, between Rotterdam and The Hague in the west of the Netherlands, on Sunday afternoon.
Local reports say the delivery happened shortly after the pair's black Nissan Qashqai had pulled over to the side of the road.
Footage of the moment showed the passenger-side doors opened as the baby was delivered; fortunately, a midwife is reported to have been following them to hospital and stepped in to help.RTL reports that paramedics arrived shortly after the youngster was safely born.
