A woman couldn't hide her excitement after making an incredible find in a skip, a discovery she labelled as something that would have made her mum proud.
Tina Foster, a self-proclaimed 'Hyper DIY'er' took to TikTok to showcase her new possession in a video. "It's only now that I realise just how much my mum taught me but more surprising how much knowledge this scatty brain of mine has kept locked away!" she penned in an accompanying caption. "All thanks to my mumma." The clip began with Tina seen carrying a table into her house, which she had been given permission to take by builders working nearby.
She exclaimed: "I have a £3,000 table from a skip. Unbelievable." Tina then revealed that the furniture is a Danish teak coffee table designed by Peter Hivdt and Orla Molgaard-Nielsen. "I knew what this was as soon as I saw it," she said. "Fun fact - my mum and I used to wheel and deal in antiques and for most of my life she's taught me everything I know - she'd be so proud." She suspects the table dates back to the 1950s or 1960s, meanwhile. "I've checked it all over and it is absolutely perfect," Tina gushed. "It needs restoring, but I will do that." She further explained the condition of her find: "The legs are fine and the rattan shelf is intact.
I'm under no illusion that I'm going to get three grand for this piece - it is beautiful, but to actually get three grand for it is very unlikely.
