Woman, 21, who was 'totally healthy' spent weeks fighting coronavirus in critical care

A 21-year-old woman with no underlying health conditions has told of her horrific battle against coronavirus. Lily Burns said she was in the 0.2% of people likely to be badly affected Covid-19, but spent a week in sedation in hospital as she fought for her life from the disease.

Her organs had swelled up and temperature soared with medics warning she may take a month to be able to speak and walk again, The Daily Record reports.

Lily in now recovering at home in Fort William, Scotland, and has shared her harrowing story. "I never, ever thought it would happen to me," she said.
