Wishaw sack boss after dismal start to season leaves side bottom

Wishaw Football Club has announced it has parted company with manager David Dunn, following yesterday's 6-0 thrashing at home to Glasgow Perthshire.The Beltane Park side have taken just three points from their opening seven games in the West of Scotland Second Division and sit rock bottom of the standingsWishy have suffered some heavy defeats in that run, with a 7-2 humbling at the hands of Caledonian Locomotives and a 5-2 home defeat to Bonnyton Thistle preceding Saturday's shocker.Dunn, who stepped up from assistant boss in December 2021 to take the reins following Mark Daly's departure, said earlier this month he would be considering his position if he didn't see an upturn in results and performances.And he has now left the Beltane along with coaches Dean Richardson and Mark Canning, while the club now search for a new boss.A club statement read: "After Saturday's result we regret to announce that David Dunn has left his role as manager, accompanied by his coaching team of Dean Richardson and Mark Canning."The club would like to put on record our thanks for the work that David has led through his time at Wishaw, and his commitment and desire to succeed."David, Dean and Mark move on with our thanks and best wishes."Wishaw are now accepting expressions of interest for the role as manager.
