A Winter Wonderland has scrapped plans to have live reindeer at its festive event, but is facing a backlash from some families who say it's the 'wrong decision'.
The company issued a statement explaining that the animals will no longer be part of the event, which comes to EventCity next week after a number of complaints, including a petition on change.org signed by almost 47,000 people.
It stressed that the plan was always to have the reindeer in a 'a quiet zone at the end of the grotto' - as they had done in previous events - but has 'taken on board the messages' of disapproval and decided not to include them at all.
