Will Young has opened up about his drink-driving arrest. In his new book To be a Gay Man, the singer admitted his arrest left him feeling "overriding" relief because it got him out of straight sex with his then-girlfriend.
At the time, the pop star lost his licence for 18 months after police pulled him over for driving the wrong way down a one-way street while drunk.
But it wasn't a "lose-lose situation"; the relieved star dodged getting intimate with the "poor girl who was back at the flat waiting for her kebab".
He said: "My overriding thought as I was taken away was one of relief that I wasn't going to have to have sex with the poor girl, who was back at the flat, waiting for her kebab. "As it turned out, the policemen were very nice.
