Coronation Street's new star Will Mellor has revealed how his fear of his dad hitting him as a child helped to save him from taking a wrong turn in life.
The former Two Pints of Lager actor, 44, spoke open and honestly to the Sixteen Summers podcast about his upbringing on a rough estate in Stockport.
He said that his dad's treatment towards him helped him avoid "the route of drugs and drink and all that nonsense". When asked "if you had to choose between your childhood and the one you're giving your kids, which would you pick?" the 44-year-old candidly admitted: "The way he disciplined me as a kid I wouldn’t do that to my son."
