Let’s just say the film Wild Mountain Thyme had a few question marks over it when it landed in Ireland back in December, mainly due to the horrific Irish accents throughout.
As a nation, we are very particular about our accents being displayed on the big screen, and even if you’re from Ireland, like Jamie Dornan is, we still won’t let you away with a dodgy accent.
However, despite the numerous complaints about Wild Mountain Thyme, it proves to have been a massive success for Tourism Ireland with regards to its marketing campaign.
Although it wasn’t a massive hit over this side of the pond, over in America it proved to be a different story and Tourism Ireland spent a whopping €17,000 to capitalise on its release across the Atlantic.
