Wigan Warriors star Bevan French finally heading back to the UK

Wigan Warriors’ star full-back Bevan French has announced that he is finally on his way back to the UK. In a major boost to Adrian Lam's side, French posted a picture to his Instagram story of him at Brisbane airport, captioned 'UK bound'.

He will have to complete a five-day quarantine period when he lands back, and return a negative test, before he can link-up with the rest of the Warriors' squad.

The 25-year-old Aussie was outstanding last season and turned down interest from the NRL to sign a new one-year deal with Wigan.

French was given extra time at home during the off-season to spend time with his family down under. Last year, ahead of the first lockdown, he returned home to see an ill family member.
