Wigan Athletic were victorious on derby day after a 4-0 thumping of fierce rivals Bolton Wanderers at the University of Bolton Stadium.
In what was a feisty affair in the Northwest, goals from Will Keane, Callum Lang, and a double from James McClean ensured the three points returned to the DW Stadium.
Speaking after the match, Latics manager Leam Richardson said: “The pleasing part about the performance was the application and how hard the team worked. “I thought we imposed ourselves in the right times and in the right areas and then thankfully we had a little bit of quality at the end of it as well."
