Humza Yousaf's wife has described how her relatives trapped in Gaza were left covered in shrapnel after a drone attack.Nadia El-Nakla said her two-year-old cousin received medical treatment at the scene today but avoided serious injury. The SNP councillor has spoken candidly in recent days over the dire situation facing her relatives in the Palestinian enclave.Israel has sealed off access to the Gaza Strip and is widely expected to launch a land invasion of the territory following terrorist attacks on Israelis by Hamas.El-Nakla's parents had traveled to the area before the violence broke out to visit relatives and are now trapped.Speaking on LBC, she repeated her calls for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza to allow people to be evacuated. She said: "Two minutes before this call, my mother called me.

My aunt and uncle and their three children - the youngest is just two - were sitting outside their home and they got hit by a drone."Thankfully, the drone hit off a metal fire extinguisher and now my two-year-old cousin is covered in shrapnel."My mum is crying, but they are OK and they are removing the shrapnel."You cannot go to hospital for that kind of treatment right now."El-Nakla added: "I want an urgent ceasefire.

I want to see humanitarian aid going into Gaza, and I want foreign nationals out. "I believe people of Israel and the people of Palestine want to live in peace and deserve to live in peace."A long-term solution to this conflict has to be made.

And that can only be made if we see countries taking an approach that takes into consideration the actions of both Palestine and Israel."And do not put the lives of Palestine or Israel above each other.
