Wicked‘s opening weekend box office numbers are in, and the film made a whopping $114 million this weekend!

This places the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo-led film with the third best opening box office weekend of 2024, and the best musical adaptation opening weekend of all time!

The two best box office openings of 2024 were Deadpool & Wolverine at $211 million and Inside Out 2 at $154 million. The best musical adaptation at the box office used to be 2014′s Into the Woods at $31 million.

Meanwhile, another huge movie opened this weekend at the box office: Gladiator II. The film also had a huge weekend, though it did not make as much as Wicked.
