Millions of households will begin receiving £300 from today (October 31). However, not everyone will begin receiving the payment right away, with the majority of payments being made by November 19.

Despite this, there are other reasons you may not notice the cost of living payment landing in your account straight away. For example, you may have been awarded a qualifying benefit or tax credit from the DWP or HMRC at a later date or there was a change to your benefits account.

However, in both situations, you should still receive the cost of living payment automatically but it will just be delayed. Similar to payments from the DWP, the HMRC cost of living payment will remain at £300 and will be automatically issued. If the November 19 deadline passes and you still haven't received a cost of living payment but are still expecting it, there will generally be a form made available at a later date which you can use to report a missing cost of living payment.
