Stranger Things ended up not walking the red carpet or attending the show so far. Actors Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, and Gaten Matarazzo were missing from the red carpet this evening.
Sink, notably, was at the Toronto International Film Festival with Taylor Swift on 9 Sept and on her own 1 Sept. The show's teens and adults—Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, David Harbour, and Maya Hawke—weren't spotted there either.
Dyer was notably photographed at New York Fashion Week today, attending the Veronica Beard show. After its massive fourth season, which was split into two volumes, Stranger Things is nominated for 13 Emmys this evening, including Outstanding Drama Series.
The cast's choice to skip the show may indicate they didn't believe they were frontrunners in their categories, and they additionally had other commitments this week, whether it was at New York Fashion Week (Dyer), TIFF (Sink), or promoting other projects. (Hawke's film Do Revenge comes out on Friday, for example. )The Stranger Things crew is preparing for the Netflix hit’s fifth and final session, which the writing team has revealed will contain eight episodes—or so a recent tweet from the show's writers seems to confirm.
