Why the Aberdeen count summed up a very strange Scottish Parliament election

frustrating but oddest I've reported on. Coronavirus is the culprit and all the measures in place at the count I attended in Aberdeen were necessary to prevent the potential spread of the virus.

Some of my colleagues were in Edinburgh and Glasgow for the counts there, but I was at P&J Live arena on the outskirts of the Granite City to cover what could have been one of the biggest stories in the election - Alex Salmond returning to Holyrood.

The former First Minister was the number one candidate for his new Alba party on the North East Scotland regional list.After arriving at the count at around 9am on Friday and taking my seat in the second floor balcony I looked down briefly at the count floor where candidates, election agents and security.
