If you were an avid TV-watcher in 2005, you may remember that Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton suddenly stopped being friends, filmed their hit reality show The Simple Life separately, and were seemingly involved in a big feud.
Thankfully, the two stars patched things up, and have been friends again for years. In fact, they are returning to TV this week in a new special!
In a promo appearance on “Call Her Daddy,” Nicole and Paris opened up about their 2005 feud and what really happened. Keep reading to find out more… Nicole shared that, in actuality, “nothing really happened.” “Back then, the media was just so toxic and they loved starting feuds between people because, obviously, that sold tabloids,” Paris said. “So it was mostly the media just spinning things and creating drama that didn’t exist, which was normal in the 2000s.
They did it with everyone.” Because they were young, Nicole said they “didn’t know how to communicate with each other,” and thus, “if [they] were hearing something [like gossip], [they] would assume [it was true].” “We didn’t have the communication skills we have right now to have check-ins, which is so important,” Nicole said.
