Why Nomadland was the big winner at this year’s Oscars

Speculation was rife as to which film will walk away with golden Oscar statues and the big winner on the night was Nomadland.

The Searchlight Pictures production, starring Frances McDormand, has taken home many wins over the course of award season and rightfully so.

It’s also had a successful run across the festival circuit, including a screening at Cannes. As of yet. the film hasn’t been released in Ireland, but movie fans will be relieved to hear it’s due to land on Disney+ on 30 April.
