It is highly unlikely Manchester United will be able to recall striker Joe Hugill from League One side Burton Albion. Hugill joined Burton on loan for the remainder of the season last month but the United first-team squad is now devoid of a recognisable striker following Rasmus Hojlund's injury.
Burton and United would have to mutually agree for Hugill's loan to be abruptly ended and the EFL would have to grant permission for the loan to be terminated outside a transfer window.
Hugill, 20, has scored one goal in four appearances for Burton. United say Hojlund is out for between two-three weeks with a muscular injury.
He is certain to miss the visit of Fulham on Saturday, the FA Cup fifth round tie against Nottingham Forest, the Manchester derby at City and the home game against Everton.
