If you've thought headlights seem brighter lately, you're not imagining it. A growing number of drivers are reporting a surge in blinding glare on the roads.
Glare from headlights is becoming so bad that a quarter of motorists are driving less at night, a new study has revealed. The research, commissioned by the RAC, found that drivers avoid taking to the road while it's dark, with 22 per cent claiming dazzling headlights make them wish they could drive less.
The study marks the most in-depth research into motorists' views on bright headlights to date, the RAC claims, with three quarters of nearly 2,000 drivers reporting they drive less because headlight glare makes it more difficult.
It comes after RAC figures showed complaints about bright headlights are becoming more frequent. The insurance company's recent survey revealed eight out of 10 drivers believe headlight glare is getting worse.
