With so much content landing on Netflix every month, we’d all be forgiven for missing the odd gem or two on the streaming service.
Well, we hold out hands up and say it took us far too long to start watching Motherland and now, we’re hooked. And it should be no surprise that we love the show as it’s from the genius mind of Irish writer and actress, Sharon Horgan.
The series premiered back in 2016 on BBC Two but only made its way into our homes in recent months thanks to its arrival on Netflix.
For those who haven’t seen it – something we plan to rectify pretty quickly – the show tells the story of working-mum Julia Johnson who is forced to stay home to mind her children when her mother quits nanny duties.
