The Pennsylvania Supreme Court decided this week to overturn Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction and release him from prison with immediate effect that had people around the world wondering why.
It turns out, the decision was made due to an agreement Cosby had made with a Pennsylvania prosecutor in 2005 when a woman had taken advice on bringing a case against the then-popular star.
Andrea Constand told Bruce Castor, the then district attorney for Montgomery County, that the now 83-year-old had drugged and sexually assaulted her in his mansion in 2004.
Castor had declined to prosecute at the time due to lack of evidence to get a conviction but advised her to take a civil case against Cosby.
