Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. Fans of Jonathan Ross are getting a bumper helping of the presenter this weekend, as he's on ITV with his chat show tonight (Saturday) and is back on tellies tomorrow evening (March 10) as part of the channel's The Oscars coverage.

But he's bringing celebs the Mancunian way tonight, so it's not to be missed. Top billing has to be given to Burnage boy Liam Gallagher and his current musical collaborator, Altrincham-born John Squire.

The pair join the sofa to chat to Jonathan about their brand new album Liam Gallagher John Squire, which is set for the number one spot in the official charts this week.

As musicians who have played a major role in two of the North West's most celebrated exports - Oasis and The Stone Roses - music fans will be thrilled to hear Liam speak about how they got together and John reveal that musically they are "on the same page".
