Strictly Come Dancing is back as 15 celebrities take to the dance floor in a bid to win the Glitterball Trophy. The BBC dance competition is expected to dominate our weekend evenings up until Christmas as we enjoy foxtrots, paso dobles and cha-cha-chas.
Among those taking part in this year's Strictly is comedian and actor Chris McCausland, who is the show's first blind contestant.
Chris, 47, lost his sight because of retinitis pigmentosa, a hereditary eye disease that causes gradual degeneration of the retina.
Following the announcement, the comedian joked he had “never watched” the show. He told ITV’s This Morning: “I must be the only person who’s going to be doing the show without ever seeing it, for obvious reasons, because what’s the point in listening to people dance?
