While Soccer Aid often attracts a flurry of celebrities and actors, it also invites former athletes and footballers. Among these accomplished athletes taking part in the charity fixture this year is former American pro Carli Lloyd.
Throughout her professional sporting career, Carli has gathered a vast amount of achievements under her belt. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion and a two-time FIFA Player of the Year.
She will be joining the World XI team this year and will face off against the likes of Liam Payne, Gary Neville, and Jamie Carragher. Speaking about taking part in Soccer Aid Carli said: "For me to be able to dictate when I wanted to leave the sport, retire in the fashion I did, I don’t think many athletes get to do that.
