I Wanna Dance With Somebody will see Naomi Ackie take on the role of the iconic singer in the film directed by Stella Meghie and written by Anthony McCarten who wrote Bohemian Rhapsody.
One of the films producers, Clive Davis, said that Naomi’s audition was ‘powerful’ and sent ‘shivers’ up his spine. According to Variety, he added: ‘Although Whitney’s incomparable vocals are used for all the songs, Naomi’s extraordinary acting range enables her to masterfully capture Whitney’s unique charm, star power and, of course, her personal struggles. ‘Naomi is the real deal and I can’t imagine a better choice for this iconic
