A wide variety of DWP benefit payments will be increasing soon. Every year, benefits increase in line with the inflation rates recorded for the previous September.

In September 2022, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was marked at 10.1 per cent. During his Autumn Budget, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced the changes to benefits rates, which will reportedly cost the government £11 billion.

He told the House of Commons: "There have also been some representations to keep the uplift to working age and disability benefits below the level of inflation given the financial constraints we face.
