The official end of the Writers Guild strike on Wednesday brought a slew of news from the world of late-night television, which was the first to go off the air in May when the writers hit the picket lines.
They also will be the first genre of shows to return to regular episodes, beginning Friday with HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, who tried to return during the strike but held off amid backlash that also reached the daytime talk shows (The Drew Barrymore Show, The Jennifer Hudson Show and others) who wanted to launch their seasons.
