Iconic singer and actor Meat Loaf has sadly died at the age of 74. The news was posted on the singer's Facebook page - and it was later confirmed by his long-time agent, Micheal Greene.

A statement posted to his official Facebook page read: "Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. "Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!" Meat Loaf shot to fame in 1977 with the hit album Bat Out of Hell, which went on to become one of the biggest selling records of all time.

He also starred in films such as Fight Club, 51st State and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's for his music that he is most remembered though.
