Alessia Russo has decided to part ways with Manchester United, she issued an open letter to the fans declaring her love for all the support she has received in a red shirt, but now she must move on.
It has been an invigorating story throughout the season with top teams closing in on the Lioness talent. It seemed Russo could have her pick among NWSL’s Washington Spirit in America, French giants Lyon and an unnamed Spanish team who are all prepared to offer the United player a fair bid to move overseas.
Her agent has met with Arsenal in the past few weeks having been a target for the Gunners’ attempt to bolster their attacking ranks last season.
But the Manchester giants declined to accept a record-breaking bid, exceeding the estimated $400,000 paid for Kiera Walsh’s move to Barcelona, in the January transfer window.
