The long-expected announcement of Erik ten Hag’s appointment as the next Manchester United boss on Thursday was met with optimism by fans.
The Dutchman will join on a three-year deal, with an option for a further 12 months, this summer. United are set for a number of acquisitions and departures ahead of an expected squad overhaul.
Ten Hag has been tasked with the challenge of restoring United back as title contenders in a long-term project. But it looks as though his mind is very much still on the short-term with Ajax.
The 52-year-old was driving into the Dutch club’s training facilities on Friday when he was congratulated on his appointment at United by a reporter.
