Brits will once again take to the polls to have their say in their local government this month. The 2024 local elections will see more than 2,500 council seats up for grabs across 107 local authorities in England while police and crime commissioners (PCCs) will be elected in all parts of England and Wales except Greater Manchester, London, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

No polls are scheduled to take place in Scotland or Northern Ireland. There will be at least one poll in every area of the two nations, with some voters getting to cast a ballot in several types of elections.

In our region, the Greater Manchester and Salford mayoral elections will unfold on the same day as the local elections.
