It's a day Celtic fans have become well accustomed to in recent years. And having reclaimed the Premiership title from Rangers last season, they will once again celebrate the unfurling of the league flag at Parkhead.
But it's also where the campaign to retain the trophy kicks off. Ange Postecoglou 's side will take on Aberdeen in their first league outing with Jim Goodwin 's new-look side looking much improved if their Premier Sports Cup group stage campaign is anything to go by.
However, this is an altogether different test for the Dons and they will be without Liam Scales with the on-loan Irishman ineligible to face his parent club.
Other new signings such as captain Anthony Stewart, Ylber Ramadani and Bojan Miovski are set for their first taste of Premiership action.
