Sign up to FREE email alerts from the Northern Agenda Voters in London have elected a London Mayor in the 2021 elections. The mayoral election was originally due to be held last year, but were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Polling stations closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 6, but unlike in previous years votes will not be counted overnight. The votes for London Mayor will be counted on Saturday morning, with a result expected in the afternoon.

The position is currently held by Sadiq Khan for the Labour Party, who was elected in 2016. A total of 20 names appeared on the ballot paper this year - more than in any previous election for the position of London mayor.
