West Lothian Council is supporting the 16 Days of Action campaign to tackle gender-based violence in our society.The West Lothian Gender Based Violence Partnership is leading on the campaign at a local level which runs from November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to International Human Rights Day on December 10 and includes World Aids Day on December 1.A minute’s silence took place on November 25 at 11am to honour the women who have lost their lives as well as those who have survived domestic abuse.The local theme for the campaign for this year is ‘light up’ and people are being encouraged to light a candle or set a light on during the minute silence as an additional show of support.A series of
