Sign up to the weekly West Lothian Courier newsletter for the latest West Lothian news and sport.The row between homeowners in Deans South and West Lothian Council has neared a conclusion after a deal was agreed.The homes were declared unsafe to live in back in 2004 after it was found concrete used to build them was unsuitable.Council tenants were quickly moved out, but owners of the homes fought with West Lothian Council for 16 years over the value of their properties.However, a deal has now been struck to buy the land and provide homes for seven of the remaining nine tenants.Housing developers Springfield Properties, bought the land from West Lothian Council for £430,000 and will now provide the “home for a home” deal that the seven.
