West Lothian College has been shortlisted for four awards in three categories at an upcoming business enterprise award show.The ‘Bridge 2 Business Enterprise Awards’ recognises students and educators who are leading the way in enterprise education.The college has been shortlisted for four awards in three categories - College Enterprise Champion Award, two Special Recognition Awards, and Enterprising Student of the Year Award.The College Enterprise Champion Award highlights a lecturer or any member of staff who is leading the way in enterprise education in their college, nominated from the college was Steven Morrison.Steven has also been nominated in the ‘Special Recognition’ category along with John Begbie.They have been shortlisted as deserving of special recognition for their dedication, passion and development in supporting enterprise education.Tori-Leigh Adams has been shortlisted in the ‘Enterprising Student of the Year’ category for showing an enterprising spirit and a creative approach to a specialised projects and business ideas.Tori-Leigh was home-schooled and began attending the college on a part-time basis to gain core skill qualifications.Later in 2019 Tori-Leigh worked in a garage in Sweden through an international exchange scheme - she highlights her dedication to education and enterprising spirit through weekly LinkedIn posts that receive huge attention on the business based social media.Tori-Leigh hopes to open a female-friendly garage once she graduates, run by women, for women.Winners will be announced from the shortlist at the Bridge 2 Business Enterprise Awards on April 28 at 7pm.
