The Welsh castle being used as the venue for I’m A Celeb was vandalised just hours before it was due to be handed over to the show.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is returning to the spectacular Gwrych Castle for a second year after producers decided the pandemic made it too risky to travel to Australia.

But on Sunday children were spotted by an ‘astonished’ member of staff ‘demolishing the battlements’ of the protected building.

A worker at the castle said: ‘Thankfully nobody was injured, but part of the Grade l-listed building was damaged.’ The castle, located near Abergele in North Wales, also posted a picture of the damage done to the wall on their social media.
