An investigation has been launched after a fly-tip was found under a motorway bridge and just a short distance away from a tip.
The mess was discovered on Thursday (December 7) near to Stretford Meadow, where the suburb meets Sale and the M60. It is also just a short walk from the Chester Road tip, which is run by Recycle for Greater Manchester (R4GM).
As an R4GM site, it means anyone can use the tip from any Greater Manchester borough — except Wigan — rather than going to a tip in their own council area.
People who drive household waste can visit 52 times a year, or once a week.
