The 38-year-old joined the Whites last summer as a player but also as the club's goalkeeping coach. He ended up making his Bolton debut last November in the win against Salford City and from then on was the club's number one goalkeeper.
The veteran stopper ended up making 16 clean sheets in 35 games in League Two as Wanderers sealed automatic promotion back to the third tier of English football.
