A woman who died after being found unconscious on the roadside has been named as her family paid tribute. The victim is believed to have been hit by a van, with a man later arrested on suspcion of murder.

Today, police named the 35-year-old woman who died in the incident in Congleton as Charlotte Dodd. Cheshire Police were alerted at 2.08 am on Sunday September 24th that she had been found next to the road on Padgbury Lane, near to the junction with Arnside Avenue.

Officers and paramedics attended, and Charlotte, from Congleton, was rushed to the Royal Stoke Hospital, where she sadly died.

Her family said of their loss: “We have lost our beautiful girl in the most tragic way.
