A man who was violently assaulted while on a family holiday says he and his family were made to feel 'like a nuisance' when they tried to report the attack to police in Spain.
Father-of-two Chris, who only wanted to share his first name, was a few days into a two-week holiday with extended family in Malaga and had been out for dinner on the night of the attack.
From Cork in the Republic if Ireland, he was on his way back to his apartment after dropping his brother-in-law home from a Father's Day dinner when he was knocked unconscious by a blow from behind.
The attack occurred less than 200m from his accommodation and Chris said he had just been on the phone to his wife minutes beforehand, who was back at the holiday apartment with the couple's two children, CorkBeo reports.
