'We fell in love online... but now we need to find nearly £90,000 to be together'

A long-distance couple, separated by Brexit and rising UK visa costs, are asking for the public's help in raising over £88,000 so they can be together.

Nathaniel Bacchus, 24, from Ipplepen in Devon, and Karin Kohlmetz, 26, from Esbjerg in Denmark, met online on a Discord server in May 2022 and quickly formed a bond.

After six months of online communication, their relationship took a serious turn and Nathaniel flew to Denmark to meet Karin for the first time in November 2022, an experience they described as "surreal".

They've since visited each other several times in both the UK and Denmark, and now harbour dreams of marriage and starting a family, with Karin hoping to move to the UK on a spouse or partner visa.
