'We built an igloo near Bolton and celebrated with bacon butties'

Just outside of Bolton is probably the last place you’d ever expect to see an igloo. But two brothers managed to make it happen at a popular beauty spot following the cold snap earlier this month.

Jordan Hilton and his brother Liam decided to take on the challenge at Rivington Pike in Chorley on Sunday (January 12). The 34-year-old got the idea to build the snow house after going for a camping trip with his girlfriend the night before.

Realising how much snow had settled on the hills, Jordan, who lives in Horwich, decided to hike back up the popular spot the next morning to build an igloo.

The challenge took the pair six hours to complete, finishing the mission with celebratory bacon and sausage butties. Jordan, who documented the task on his Instagram and YouTube accounts, told the Manchester Evening News: “Me and my girlfriend went up and took a tent up there the night before and cooked our tea. “[The snow] was up to our knees.
