Taylor Swift is feeling the Class of 2022! On Wednesday, the 32-year-old singer slipped on a cap and gown «for the very first time,» and received a honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree from New York University.
Swift also gave a commencement speech at the graduation ceremony, which was held at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Needless to say, the GRAMMY winner referenced more than one of her own song lyrics.«I’m…90% sure the main reason I’m here is because I have a song called ‘22.' And let me just say, I am elated to be here with you today as we celebrate and graduate New York University’s Class of 2022,» she told the packed stadium.
Swift also couldn't help calling out her song about New York! «Let me say to you now: Welcome to New York. It’s been waiting for you,» she told the graduates.Watch and read along to Swift's commencement speech below.
