took over History in Toronto last night (September 10) as the second stop of their North American tour. The dates follow on from their extensive run of performances across Europe this summer and marked their return to the States in 12 years.
They kicked off the show playing tracks that span their entire discography including the likes of ‘Disco 2000’, ‘Something Changed’, ‘Pink Glove’, ‘Sorted for E’s & Wizz’, ‘Babies’ and ‘Common People’.During their three-track encore, the iconic Sheffield band launched into a new and unreleased track titled ‘My Sex’.
The song opens with a dark and brooding bassline as Cocker sings about “My Sex [being] one-of-a-kind and ill defined”. The song is sultry and reminiscent of something Serge Gainsbourg or Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys would write.
